My Autumn/Winter Interiors Collection is entitled ‘All Things Rome’ taking inspiration from a recent trip to Rome, Italy and focuses on certain aspects of the city. I have engineered contemporary prints to compliment each other as a collection. The colour palette incorporates muted tones and accent colours.

Design Statement

Inspired by the idea of juxtaposing man made structures with natural form and landscapes, my collection of printed wallpapers and fabric designs explore the on going battle between architecture and nature. Through digital and screen-printing processes, my illustrative imagery has been translated into a contemporary interiors collection.

Design Statement

Contrasting beauty with ugliness, ‘PrettyUgly’ embodies my fascination with human form and dark fantasy. The lines between figurative and floral imagery become blurred through embellished ‘deformations’ and patterned decay. Enhanced by a rich palette, tactile surfaces and painterly details, my collection aims to evoke auras of decadence and macabre sensuality.

The theme of “subaqueous skins” inspired my latest collection of fashion prints, featuring underwater organisms and concentrating on surface texture. The “Beautiful Decay” collection aims to redefine old age, creating colourful hand rendered and digital prints which encapsulate the gracefulness and delicacy of ageing. I hope to inspire wearers to focus less on the negative connotations which come with growing old and more on the fascinating ways in which the process happens.

My project explores Charles Darwin’s ‘Origin of Species’. The large collection of creatures and specimens on display at the Liverpool Museum first inspired the project. I saw scope for pattern in many of these objects, and wanted to create vibrant surface designs based upon them.

Soft textured shades provide the backdrop to my designs, whilst bold, intricate and highly decorative imagery provide the centrepiece. Working with Acrylic paints and inks, provide a rustic and traditional feel to my designs. These effects interact nicely on my theme ‘Oxford street scenes at night & dusk’.
